Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Shunyah mobile application (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App (16 years old in the European Economic Area). By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using Google Sign-In or an email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

4. AI-Generated Content

Shunyah uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized meditation scripts and audio. You acknowledge that:

• All meditation content is generated by AI and is not reviewed by human professionals
• Generated content may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected output
• We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or appropriateness of any AI-generated content
• You use AI-generated content at your own discretion

5. Not Medical or Therapeutic Advice

SHUNYAH IS A WELLNESS APPLICATION AND IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT.

The App does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. The meditations, sleep content, and affirmations offered through the App are for general wellness purposes only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis, or suicidal thoughts, please contact emergency services (911) or a crisis helpline (988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) immediately.

Always consult with a qualified healthcare provider before beginning any new wellness practice, especially if you have a pre-existing medical or mental health condition.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Trial

New subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

Managing & Cancelling

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device:

iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Shunyah → Cancel Subscription

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until that date. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time. Any price change will take effect at the start of the next billing period following the date of the price change. Your continued use of the App after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Circumvent or manipulate subscription or payment mechanisms
• Use automated systems or bots to access the App
• Submit inputs designed to generate harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
• Redistribute or resell AI-generated content commercially
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's infrastructure

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is owned by Shunyah and protected by intellectual property laws. AI-generated meditation scripts created for your personal use are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

You retain no ownership rights over the AI models, algorithms, or systems used to generate content.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that is harmful to other users or our services. You may delete your account at any time through the App's Profile settings.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. AI-generated content may not always meet your expectations or be appropriate for your specific circumstances.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHUNYAH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shunyah and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Vermont, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in the State of Vermont.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
